A huge crowd turned out in Laois yesterday to mark World Alzheimer’s Day.

Ballyroan-Abbey GAA club was the venue for a Memory Walk which took place at 11am.

Families, friends, and neighbours walked side by side in solidarity with the 64,000 people living with dementia in Ireland—and in remembrance of those sadly no longer with us.

Now in its sixth year, the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk, supported by Aviva is more than a fundraiser—it’s a celebration of connection, compassion, and community.

Local Champion for Laois, Grainne Roche-Duff, lead the charge again as a big crowd took part.

Photographer Alf Harvey was present on Sunday and captured some great images.
