Portlaoise College welcomed large numbers of prospective students and their families to its two Open Nights held on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
Each evening began with an address from Principal Noel Daly, who spoke about the school’s innovative and inclusive ethos.
“It was fantastic to see all the new faces over the last two nights.
“Our aim is to provide an environment where every student feels valued and supported, while also being challenged to reach their full potential,” Mr Daly said.
On Wednesday, Head Prefect Oisín Grundy shared how the school has helped him grow personally and academically as he works towards a career in Computer Engineering.
Thursday’s gathering heard from Head Prefect Isha Bhatt, who described Portlaoise College as a welcoming and supportive community that is helping her achieve her own goals.
Parent Heather Goodwin spoke on both nights, explaining that she chose the school because it “caters for the whole person,” adding that kindness is evident in all aspects of school life.
Following the speeches, visitors were given guided tours of the building by staff and prefects before enjoying refreshments in the canteen.
