James (Jim) Hamilton of 33 Doonane Road, Crettyard, Co. Laois and formerly of Glasgow, Scotland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his friends, on the 26th of October 2025, at his home.

Pre-deceased by his dad James, Mam Isabella, brothers Tommy, Joe, Pat and Brian

He would be sadly missed by his loving brother Benny, sister Angela, sister-in-law Ann Marie, brother-in-law John, nieces, nephews, his beloved and treasured goddaughter Croía, relatives and a wide circle of friends

COUGHLAN (Cork) On 25th October 2025, peacefully, in the presence of her loving family and in the tender and exceptional care of the staff at CareChoice, Montenotte, MAURA (nee Phelan), Kenley Heights, Model Farm Road and late of Liam Healy Road, Fair Hill and Mountrath, Co. Laois.

Beloved wife of the late Bobby, much loved mother of Betty, Marie, Robert, Camilla, Rosita and the late Christy, devoted grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and dearest sister of Peg and Liz and the late Jim, Billy, Christy Jude and Kit.

Sadly missed by her loving family, sons-in-law Ben, Finbarr and Matt, daughters-in-law Marion and Elaine, brother-in-law Seamus, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Coughlan’s Funeral Home, Shandon Street on Tuesday (28th October) from 10.00am, family in attendance from 4.00pm with Rosary Prayers at 5.00pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday (29th October) at 11.00am in the Church of the Resurrection, Farranree. Funeral afterwards to St. Michael’s Cemetery, Blackrock.

The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care given to Maura from all in CareChoice, Montenotte.

Teresa (Tess) Lalor (née Phelan)
Gash, Castletown, Laois

Passed away peacefully on the 25th October, 2025, in Brookhaven Nursing Home, Ballyragget, under the loving care of the staff, with her loving son Kieran at her side.

Predeceased by her husband Fint, sisters and brothers.

Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by her loving son Kieran, daughter-in-law Dee, her 5 grandchildren, her 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Guilfoyle’s Funeral Home, Castletown, (Eircode R32TN84), this Monday evening (Oct 27th) from 6.30pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm.

Removal from Guilfoyle’s Funeral Home, Castletown on Tuesday morning (Oct 28th) at 10.45am to arrive at St. Edmund’s Church, Castletown (Eircode R32KT22) for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by interment in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.

Christy O’Brien
Chapel Street, Mountmellick, Laois/Portlaoise, Laois

Christy O’Brien Chapel Street, Mountmellick and formerly O’Moore Place Portlsoise died October 23rd 2025 peacefully at The Regional Hospital Portlaoise.

Predeceased by his loving wife Philomena and his siblings Paddy, Tom, Micheal, Ann, May and Billy.

Deeply regretted by his loving daughter Nora and son Declan, son-in-law John Paul and daughter-in-law Catherine, grandchildren Jordan, Shannon, Max, Callum, Leon, nieces, nephews, neighbours and his many friends.

Reposing in his daughter Nora’s home in Chapel Street (R32Y5D1) on Saturday and Sunday from 5pm. Recital of The Rosary on both evenings at 8pm. Removal on Monday at 12.15pm to St.Josephs Church Mountmellick for Requiem Mass 1pm. Burial after in St.Josephs Cemetery.

Family time on Monday morning. Mass will be live-streamed via the parish webcam https://www.mountmellickparish.ie

Nancy Frawley Borris Little, Portlaoise Co.Laois. Died October 25th 2025. Peacefully surrounded her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Tom and son Peter. Deeply regretted by her daughter Sylvia Deevy, son John, son in law Pat, daughter in law Tanya, grandchildren, Craig and Rebecca and their partners Áine and Jay, great grandchild Páidí, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her residence R32VOCX on Sunday October 26th from 5pm until 8pm with rosary at 7pm. Funeral arriving to SS Peter and Paul’s Church Portlaoise on Monday for 2pm requiem mass followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery Portlaoise.

Evelyn O’Rourke (nee O`Keefe) “Bonton Villa “ Ballyfin Rd. Portlaoise , 23rd Oct 2025 Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Seamus and loving mother to Eamonn (Archie) Geraldine, Anne, Claire, and Gillian.

Cherished grandmother to Elizabeth, Paul, Alan, and David, great grandchildren Leah, Ellie, and Bonnie. Deeply regretted by her loving family, sons in law Pat, Bobby, Brendan and Anne’s partner Liam, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral arriving at SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise for 11 am requiem mass on Monday morning. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s cemetery, Portlaoise. House strictly private please.

Joey Tuohy, late of London, England. Formerly of Lakeglen and Marian Ave., Portlaoise. Passed away peacefully in the care of the North London Hospice.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Caroline. Step children Niamh, Shane and Robert. His brothers Frank, Jim, Mick and Noel. His Sisters, Margaret, Cathy, June, Angela and Ann. Deeply regretted by his cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Relatives and friends.

Predeceased by his first wife Kay. His Mother Hannah and brother Patrick. Sister in laws Clare and Rosie.

Thursday 6th November 2025 in St Marylebone Crematorium, East End Road, London, N2 0RZ, Service at 2.00pm.

Kathleen Evans (nee Murphy) Late of Blackburn, England and formerly 7 Lakeglen Portlaoise. Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving husband Glyn and family Melissa , Susie, Robert and DJ.

Daughter of the late Joe and Lynn Murphy of Lakeglen. Predeceased by her brothers Andrew, Joseph and sister Linda . Deeply regretted by her sisters Mary, Susan, Paula , Yvonne, and brothers Martin, Kevin and Dean. Cousins , nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
