Brendan (Barney) passed away on the 3rd November 2025, unexpectedly at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by his son Shane. Sadly, missed by his beloved wife Tracy, daughter Tara and Leah, brother, sisters, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
Removal on Saturday morning 9th November to St. Fintan’s Church, Mountrath (eircode R32EC61), for Requiem Mass at 10.0’ clock, followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.

Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Beloved husband of the late Annette (recently deceased). Predeceased by his parents Walter and Frances, brothers Wally and Bertie,infant son Anthony and never forgotten grandchild William. Deeply regretted by his loving family Noeleen, Geraldine, Olive, John, Damien and Rory a son in all but name, brother Alo ,sisters Eva and Olive, his adorning grandchildren David and his fiancee Regina, Shauna, Sarah, Holly, Jack, Ella ,Adam, Oisin and Abbie, his great-grandchildren Saoirse, Aoibheann, Charlie and Fionn, sons-in-law Liam and Brian, daughters-in-law Ann Marie and Deirdre, Olive’s partner Joe, his foster son Stephen, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Mahers Chapel of Rest Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) on Thursday evening from 6pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal from his residence on Friday morning at 9:15am arriving St Michael’s Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Joseph’s Cemetery Mountmellick (travelling via his residence).

Peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family at St James’s Hospital Dublin. Predeceased by his father Tom, grandparents and father-in-law Tom. Sadly missed by his adored loving wife Christine, his loving little girls Mollie and Alison, his dear mother Maeve, brothers Lar, Ollie, Aidan and Tony, aunt Noreen, uncles Des and Con mother-in-law Christina, sisters-in-law Amanda, Sarah, Mary, Claire and Marie, brothers-in-law James, Brogan, John and Rory, adored nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.
Reposing at his residence on Thursday evening (eircode R32 C2H2) from 3pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday morning at 10:30am arriving The Sacred Heart Church, Rath (eircode R32 FN44) for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to The New Cemetery. Emo.

Patricia Trish Whelan, Derrycappagh House Mountmellick and formerly Clonkeen Portlaoise Co.Laois. Died November 4th. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Teresa and sister- in-law Kathleen. Deeply regretted by her loving sister Mary and her partner Mick. Brother Ger and his wife June. Her dearly loved nieces Jenny, Shelly, Debbie, Theresa and her partner Joe. Her grandnephew Joe and grandniece Lily. Her fellow residents, carers and nurses at Derrycappagh House. Relatives and friends.
Reposing at Derrycappagh House (R32W9R7) on Thursday November 6th from 4pm until 7pm with rosary at 6pm. Funeral arriving at SS Peter and Paul Church, Portlaoise on Friday for 11am Requiem mass followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Liam passed away peacefully on the 4th November 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by his parent’s father Bill and mother Bridget, recently deceased brother Mikie and nephew Sean. Deeply regretted by his wife Margaret, sister Mary, sister-in-law Maura, brother-in-law Jimmy, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, extended family, relatives, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing in Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath (eircode R32Y661) on Wednesday evening 5th November from 6.0’clock with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Thursday morning 6th November from his home (in Curran) to St. Canice’s Church, Clough (eircode R32K003), for Requiem Mass at 11.0’clock, followed by Burial in Bealady Cemetery , Rathdowney.

Joey Tuohy, late of London, England. Formerly of Lakeglen and Marian Ave., Portlaoise. Passed away peacefully in the care of the North London Hospice.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Caroline. Step children Niamh, Shane and Robert. His brothers Frank, Jim, Mick and Noel. His Sisters, Margaret, Cathy, June, Angela and Ann. Deeply regretted by his cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Relatives and friends.
Predeceased by his first wife Kay. His Mother Hannah and brother Patrick. Sister in laws Clare and Rosie.
