Clonad 0-19 Kevins (Dublin) 0-16
Leinster Club JHC Quarter final
Clonad’s incredible 2025 season will continue for another two weeks after they enjoyed victory in Dublin this afternoon.
David O’Brien’s charges got the better of Kevins in the Leinster JHC quarter final.
The Laois side played with the breeze in the first half and used it well to build an advantage.
Brendan Considine and Adam Mitchell initially scored to give Kevins the lead before Clonad got on top.
PJ Daly, Fionn Holland, John Onions and Barry Cormack all pointed as Clonad moved 0-6 to 0-4 clear at the midpoint of the half.
Points were traded between deadly accurate John Onions and centre field player David Reid.
In the closing minutes points by Karl Walsh were offset by two long range frees by John Onions, leaving Clonad ahead 0-12 to 0-9 at the half time whistle.
Kevins now had the wind and struck the first four points of the second half to re-take the lead.
PJ Daly levelled matters as we entered the final quarter but Kevins came again with Walsh scoring twice to leave them 0-15 to 0-13 ahead.
Barry Cormack took up free taking and converted two placed balls to level the game again.
The Dublin champions almost had a goal by sub Dan O’Brien but not for the first time, Jimmy Farrell led by example with a fine save for Clonad.
Onions then put Clonad ahead from distance before then pointing a close free after Dan O’Sullivan was taken down.
Kevins went in search of a goal but Clonad stood strong and held on to win.
They will now face Kildare champions Clane in the Leinster semi final where they will once again be away.
