Elizabeth (Betty) Dillon
Charter Road, Stradbally, Laois
The death has occurred of Elizabeth, better known as Betty Dillon, Charter Rd, Stradbally, Co Laois,peacefully, on 10th December at her residence surrounded by her loving family, Predeceased by her parents, sisters and brothers.
Sadly missed and forever loved by her sister Sheila, brothers, Stephen and Dermot, sisters-in-law, Eilish and Myra, brother-in-law Billy, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews extended family neighbours and friends.
Elizabeth will repose at her home on Wednesday and Thursday, private for family members only.
Removal to The Presentation Chapel, Stradbally on Thursday evening at 6pm with Recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass will take place in The Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally at 11am on Friday 12th December and afterwards Elizabeth will be laid to rest in Oakvale Cemetery.

Sean Ryan
Palmerstown, Dublin/Durrow, Laois
Ryan, Sean – 9th of December 2025, (Palmerstown and formerly of Durrow, Co Laois), (Peacefully), surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Annie and Richard (Dick), brother Bill, sister Nuala and great granddaughter Poppy. Sean will be very sadly missed by his beloved wife Sheila, daughters Carole, Orla, Nicola and son John, sons-in-law David, Brian and Robert, daughter-in-law Aisling, his adored grandchildren Andrew, Emily, Niamh, Rían, Hannah, Conor, Cian and Kate, great grandchildren Rio and Ryan, sisters Bride and Phyllis, extended family, friends and wonderful neighbours.
Family flowers only please, donations if desired to The Mater Hospital, Spinal Unit.
Sean will be reposing at his residence on Friday the 12th of December from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning to St Philomena’s Church, Palmerstown arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am followed by cremation at Newlands Cross Crematorium.

Mary Lawlor (née Dermody)
Kilbride, Portarlington, Laois/Leighlinbridge, Carlow
Formerly of The Harrow Cross, Leighlinbridge County Carlow. Peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Lauri, son Lauri, baby daughter Kathleen, parents William and Mary Dermody ,brother Paddy, sisters Kathleen and Judy. Deeply regretted by her loving sons, daughters, brother, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, partners, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at her residence (eircode R32 F8R2) on Wednesday evening from 3pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Thursday morning at 11am (travelling via Foxcroft Street) arriving St Michael’s Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington.

FINGLETON, Fr. Jim – 8th December 2025, (Ratheniska, Stradbally, Co. Laois and former parish priest of Christ the King Church, Cabra), (Peacefully), in the wonderful care of staff at Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Sybil Hill. Beloved brother of Tom, Har, Joe, Brendan, Larry, Mary, Nell and Veronica. Predeceased by his parents Har and Margaret, sisters Kay and Margaret. Very sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, Archbishop Dermot Farrell and the priests of the Archdiocese of Dublin.
Reposing at the Sacred Heart Residence, Sybil Hill, Raheny (D05 XK58) on Wednesday afternoon 10th December from 3pm to 5pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday morning at 11am in Sybil Hill Nursing Home Chapel. Reposing in the Church of the Holy Cross, Ratheniska, Stradbally on Thursday afternoon 11th December from 4pm with Rosary at 7pm. Funeral mass on Friday morning at 11am followed by burial in adjoining Cemetery.
