Two Laois villages have announced plans to host events on St Stephen’s Day and New Year’s Day.
Up first, you will have the chance to shift the Christmas turkey with an event in Ballyroan.
The Ballyroan Vintage Club Christmas Road Run is set to take place on December 26 from 11am.
All funds raised on the day will go in aid of Laois Hospice and Laois Alzheimer’s.
A spokesperson said: “We expect to have tractors, lorries, cars and bikes, both modern and vintage, taking part.
“All our welcome for our annual road run with raffle and refreshments taking place in Whelan’s Bar afterwards.
“Raffle tickets are available from any vintage club member or on the day. The first prize is €500 cash.
“Registration takes place from 11am in Ballyroan GAA (R43WE04) and the run starts at 12pm.”
Then, in Ballacolla, a New Year’s Day Walk and Tractor Run will take place.
A spokesperson said: “For New Year’s Day in Ballacolla, we invite all walkers, vintage and modern tractors back to the village for the 2pm start of the annual Walk and Tractor run.
“With registration at 1.30pm, we will traverse well trodden routes before returning by David Lalor’s yard in Ballygague where refreshments and the raffle will be held.
“Proceeds from the day will go to support the local national school – Ballacolla NS.”
