There was great excitement over Christmas as a Laois GAA club officially opened its brand new floodlit walking track.
On Saturday, December 27, St Joseph’s GAA club members came together to mark the occasion.
The ribbon was officially cut by Fianna Fail TD Sean Fleming who was joined by chairman Micheal Condron.
The floodlit walking track will be open every evening until 10pm and is a safe place to exercise.
Secretary Peter Farrell said: “Our floodlit walking track in Kellyville was officially opened by Deputy Seán Fleming TD and club chairman Micheal Condron.
“Thanks to everyone who joined us in Kellyville for the opening and walked a couple of laps together.
“Special thanks to those who worked hard on getting the track ready and to where it is today.
“The floodlit track is available to use every evening from dusk until 10pm. All are welcome to avail of the track.”
The club have also unveiled plans for a pitch to 5km running programme which will start next week.
Farrell said: “With the 2026 season just around the corner, we have a six week pitch to 5K running programme starting Monday January 5.
“Group sessions will take place in Kellyville on Thursdays at 7.30pm on our new floodlit track.
