18 Leaving Cert French students from Heywood CS, along with Ms O’Shea and Ms Guest flew to Paris just before Christmas.
There, the students got to enjoy the sights, sounds and the Christmas atmosphere of Paris.
On their arrival day students went straight to the Louvre, followed by a walking tour across the Tuileries Gardens, Place de la Concorde and after some Dinner a visit to the Christmas Markets.
Students stayed in a hostel in the 11th district and from there went to visit Paris’s most iconic sights including the Eiffel Tower, le Musée d’Orsaythe Champs Elysses and Stade de Franceand Montmartre.
Probably the most memorable visit of all was Notre Dame cathedral on the Sunday evening where students, along with many other visitors were able to walk through the cathedral, admire the restoration, and follow evening service that was taking place at the time-a truly special moment.
Finally, on day 4, students walked the Champs Elysées after their French class in the morning.
Students strolled through the Marais district as far as Place des Vosges.
After some last-minute shopping in Paris’s best known shops students then caught a flight back to Ireland arriving at Heywood at midnight on Monday. A jam-packed trip enjoyed by all.
