Andy passed away suddenly. Sadly missed by his loving wife Marie Goretti, sons Andy, Kieran and Martin, daughter Maria (Fogarty) daughters in-law Sheila, Niamh, Jean , son-in-law Paddy, grandchildren Lauren, Jack, Molly, Patrick, Andy and Joe, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, niece’s, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Patricia Bannon (née Ryan)
Newpark, Portlaoise, Laois/Roscrea, Tipperary

Patricia (Pat) Bannon née Ryan, New Park Portlaoise and formerly Roscrea. Died 24th of January 2026 suddenly but peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, surrounded by her loving family. Reunited with her beloved husband Christy and sister Margaret. Mourned by her devastated family, children Christopher, Elaine and Noel, daughters-in-law Claudia and Donna, grandchildren Luke, Aoibhinn, Áine, Ruairí, Aimee and great granddaughter Fíadh, brothers Jim and PJ, sister Anne, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and wide circle of friends.

James (Shay) Mulhall
Beaumont, Dublin/Emo, Laois

Mulhall, James (Shay) – 23rd January 2026, (Elm Mount Road, Beaumont and formerly of Emo, Co. Laois), (Peacefully) after a long illness surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of the staff in St. Peters Ward, Beaumont Hospital. Beloved husband of Phil and loving Dad to James, Rachel, Suzanne and Philip. Predeceased by his brothers Eddie and Patsy Mulhall. Very sadly missed by his wife, sons and daughters, sons-in-law Vincent and Tommy, daughter-in-law Serena, grandchildren Sarah, James, Rory, Alannah, Jamie, Lily and Ted, extended family, Buddy, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Stafford’s Funeral Home, Marpark, Donnycarney on Tuesday afternoon 27th January 2026 from 2pm to 4pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to the Church of St. Paul, Emo, Co. Laois arriving for Funeral Mass at 1pm followed by Burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Patrick (Paddy) Dunne
Ballymorris, Portarlington, Laois

Formerly of Congress Tce Portarlington. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Deeply regretted by his loving nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Billy passed away peacefully at his home on January 24th,2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his adored wife,Kathleen,his parents Ned and Molly,his brother Tim,and sisters Ann and Nonie.

Lovingly remembered by his daughter Annemarie (Brennan), his sons Liam, Cathal and Padraig, his grandchildren Cathy, Shane, Eimear, Stephen, Dean, Dylan, Oisin, Katie and Donnchadh, his son in law Paul, daughters in law Ciara and Mary, brothers in law, sister in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home in Ballypickas on Sunday January 25th from 2pm to 7pm with Prayers at 6pm.

Funeral arriving at St.Lazarian’s Church Knock (R32F762) on Monday for Requiem Mass at 12 noon.

Burial afterwards at St Brigid’s Cemetery Ballinakill.

House Private on Monday morning. Family flowers only, donations if desired to Friends of Abbeyleix Hospital.

William (Billy) Molloy passed away suddenly at his residence. Sadly missed by his loving family. Predeceased by his mother Chrissie and his father Joe. The death has occurred of Ciarán O’Neill, Kylebeg, Stradbally, Co. Laois, suddenly on the 23rd January 2026 at his home.

The death has occurred of Ciarán O’Neill, better known as “Nelly”, Kylebeg, Stradbally, Co. Laois, suddenly at his home on 23rd January 2026. Dearly loved and only son of Brian and Claire.

Ciarán will be sadly missed and forever loved by his heartbroken parents, his loving sisters Anna and Emma, his adored Nanny Carmel, his girlfriend Leah, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, kind neighbours and his large circle of friends.

Ciarán will repose at the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally, on Monday from 3.00pm, with the recital of the Rosary at 8.00pm. Requiem Mass will take place in the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally, at 12 noon on Tuesday, followed by interment in Oakvale Cemetery.

The death has occurred of León De Barra, 31 Sráid an tSáirséalaigh, Móinteach Mílic, Co. Laois.

At home in the company of his beloved wife Esther. Predeceased by his brothers Micheál and Kevin. Sadly missed by Esther, his sons Diarmuid, Niall, León Óg, his daughter-in-law Catherine, his grandchildren Niall Óg and Nóra, his sisters Nóra and Ann, his brothers-in-law Noel, Liam and Pat, sister-in-law Ann, nieces, nephews, numerous friends, neighbours and former Colleagues and Students.

Reposing Moloney’s Funeral Home on Saturday from 3pm until 5pm. Recital of The Rosary in the funeral home on Sunday at 5pm. Removal on Sunday at 5.45pm to St. Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick arriving for 6pm. Requiem Mass on Monday at 11am. Burial after in St. Joseph’s Cemetery

Vivienne Flanagan (née Hill), formerly of Manchester U.K. Daughter of the late Bridget & Bernard Hill, 1 River View, Clonaslee, Co. Laois.

Passed away peacefully on the 21st of December 2025.

Survived by her daughters & grandchildren. Dearly missed by her brothers John, Brian & Michael, her sisters Una & Yvonne, her nephews Karl & Brendan, her uncles, her aunts her cousins.

Requiem Mass on Monday the 26th of January at 2:30pmin St Manman’s Church, Clonaslee. Burial of ashes afterwards in St. Manman’s Cemetery, Clonaslee. Vivienne’s Requiem Mass can be viewed on www.churchmedia.tv by selecting County Laois.
