Maura died peacefully January 24th 2026. Reunited once more with her beloved parents, sisters and brothers.

Much loved wife of Gerard, mother to Póilín, Geraldine (de Búrca) and John. Adored grandma to Carolyn, Éadaoin, Gráinne, Seán, Vincent, Séamus, Hayden and Michael, and great-grandma to Liam. Remembered with love by her sisters Pat, Kathleen and Philomena and extended family.

Sheila Amond (née Kinsella) of 4 Raheendoran, Carlow and formerly of Ballyhide, Co Laois, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on January 26th, 2026 at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved wife of Sean, much loved mother of Noel, Roseanne, Michael and Aileen, adored grandmother of Christopher, Chloe, Jack, Daniel, Grainne, Molly, Lily and Bobby Joe, cherished great-grandmother of Leia, Blossom, Elijah, Ariel, Robin and Darcie and treasured sister of Pat.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughters, grandchildren and their partners Lola, Tommy and Caitlin, great-grandchildren, brother, son-in-law Tommy, Roseanne’s partner Derek, daughter-in-law Aishling, Noel partner Frances, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Sheila will repose at Carpenters Funeral Home Shamrock Sq., Carlow (R93 C863) on Thursday January 29th from 4pm, concluding with prayers at 7pm that evening.

Removal from there on Friday morning at 10am, to the St Fintan’s Church, Ballinabranna, (walking from her residence in Raheendoran) arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Bridie (Bridget) O’Neill (née Kelly)
Carlow/Laois

Bridget (Bridie) O’Neill (née Kelly) of Knockbeg Road, formerly of Tiereran, Laois passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 25th, at her home.

Predeceased by her loving husband William.

She will be sadly missed by her brother Joe, sons and daughters Liam, Eamonn, Declan, Catriona, Colm and Siobhain, her grandchildren Aaron, James, Conor, Sean, Katie, Shane, Thomas, Jack, Ben, Liam, Orla, Patrick, Phillip, Maria, Adam, Sofia, Zach and Samir, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Bridie will repose at Carpenters Funeral Home Maryborough St., Graiguecullen, Carlow (R93 ET80) on Thursday January 29th from 4pm concluding with Prayers at 7pm. Removal from there on Friday morning at 10.45am to St Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Sleaty New Cemetery, Carlow.

The death has occurred of the late Joseph (Joe) Dooley, Portlaoise Rd., Mountrath, Co. Laois on Tuesday 27th January 2026, peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.

Beloved husband of Sal, adored father of Colette, Alan and Patricia.

He will be sadly missed by all who loved him including daughter-in-law Trina, son-in-law Fergal, his adored grandchildren Adam, Jed, Brynn, Conall, and Oisín, his niece Teresa (Delaney), and a wide circle of family and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath (eircode R32Y661) on Wednesday evening 28th January from 6.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Thursday morning 29th January to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath (eircode R32X338) for Requiem Mass at 10.0’clock, followed by Interment in St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath.

Died the 26th of January 2026, peacefully, in the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife Nancy.

Dearly loved father of Declan, Niall & Deirdre. Willie will be sadly missed by his daughters-in-law Carmel & Gail, son-in-law Enda, grandchildren Megan, Dylan, Jack, Grace, Shannon & Conor, sisters Nora & Betty, sisters-in-law Betty & Josie, brother-in-law Donie, nieces, nephews relatives, neighbours and friends.

Annie Doyle (nee Kelly), Brockagh, Clonaslee, Co Laois. Passed away on the 25th of January 2026, peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her loving family & in the excellent care of Dr Julie Cunningham & Dr Mary Sheehan & their team at Clonaslee Health Centre.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Leo (Johnny), her grandchildren Yvonne & Conor, her sisters Maureen, Teresa, Peg, Catherine, Rita & her brothers Sean & Michael.

Andy passed away suddenly. Andy will be reposing in Saint Michael’s Church, Timahoe on Wednesday 28th from 5pm until recital of the rosary at 8pm.

Removal by Whelehan Funeral Directors on Thursday morning at 11.30am to arrive at Saint Michael’s Church, Timahoe for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment to follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery.

Patricia (Pat) Bannon née Ryan, New Park Portlaoise and formerly Roscrea. Died 24th of January 2026 suddenly but peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, surrounded by her loving family.

Reunited with her beloved husband Christy and sister Margaret. Mourned by her devastated family, children Christopher, Elaine and Noel, daughters-in-law Claudia and Donna, grandchildren Luke, Aoibhinn, Áine, Ruairí, Aimee and great granddaughter Fíadh, brothers Jim and PJ, sister Anne, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home on this Tuesday evening from 6.30 pm until 8 pm with rosary at 7.30 pm. Funeral arriving at SS Peter and Paul’s Church on Wednesday for 11 am requiem mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Pauls Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Mulhall, James (Shay) – 23rd January 2026, (Elm Mount Road, Beaumont and formerly of Emo, Co. Laois), (Peacefully) after a long illness surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of the staff in St. Peters Ward, Beaumont Hospital. Beloved husband of Phil and loving Dad to James, Rachel, Suzanne and Philip.

Predeceased by his brothers Eddie and Patsy Mulhall. Very sadly missed by his wife, sons and daughters, sons-in-law Vincent and Tommy, daughter-in-law Serena, grandchildren Sarah, James, Rory, Alannah, Jamie, Lily and Ted, extended family, Buddy, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Stafford’s Funeral Home, Marpark, Donnycarney on Tuesday afternoon 27th January 2026 from 2pm to 4pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to the Church of St. Paul, Emo, Co. Laois arriving for Funeral Mass at 1pm followed by Burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Formerly of Congress Tce Portarlington. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Deeply regretted by his loving nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Mahers Chapel of Rest Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) on Thursday evening from 7pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday morning at 9:20am (travelling via his residence and Foxcroft Street) arriving St Michael’s Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery Portarlington.

William (Billy) Molloy passed away suddenly at his residence. Sadly missed by his loving family. Predeceased by his mother Chrissie and his father Joe.
