Tourism Connect – a tourism industry and networking event led by Fáilte Ireland – was held recently at Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise.
The event was organised in collaboration with Laois County Council, Laois Chamber Alliance, and Laois Tourism.
Tourism Connect was a fantastic opportunity for the Laois tourist trade and industry professionals to network, share ideas and “explore ways to unlock Laois’s incredible tourism potential.”
One significant source of potential that was highlighted at the event was Laois’s membership of Ireland’s Ancient East.
Tourism Connect also provided updates on tourism initiatives and plans from the key stakeholders mentioned above.
The event included a networking session designed to foster connections among tourism providers, promoting referrals and partnerships.
This initiative aims to enhance the visitor experience, support year-round tourism, and ensure balanced visitor distribution across Laois, empowering local businesses to collectively showcase Laois as a must-see visitor destination.
Attendees at the event included:
- The Forum, Mountmellick;
- Embroidery and Heritage Museum, Mountmellick;
- Swallows Quarters, Rathdowney;
- Preston House, Abbeyleix;
- Tracy’s Pub and Restaurant, The Heath;
- Irish Vintage Engine and Tractor Association.
