Formerly Churchview, New Row, Abbeyleix, Laois. Peacefully at the Residence Nursing Home Portlaoise, surrounded by her devoted and loving family, and the wonderful caring staff of the Residence Nursing Home. Predeceased by her parents, Billy and Annie Rogers, Abbeyleix. Anne will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family, sister Lila (Burns, USA), loving husband and best friend John, daughter Mary and son Patrick, adored grandchildren Áine and Sadhbh, daughter in law Isobel, son in law Garret, brother in law Jimmy, relatives, great neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at the Chapel of Rest adjoining the Church of the Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix on Tuesday May 13th from 6pm. to 8pm. with prayers at 7pm. Funeral arriving to St.Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise for 11am Requiem Mass on Wednesday 14th. Burial afterwards in St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Stradbally Rd., Portlaoise. House Private. Robert (Bobby) Hovenden
The Swan Road, Durrow, Laois, R32 K7N1/Kilkenny
Robert (Bobby), 98 years of age, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family while under the care of the staff of Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary and his sisters Janet and Edith. Robert (Bobby) will be be deeply regretted and sadly missed by his children Ann, Robert, June, Leslie, Ken and Don, his brothers Arthur and Harry, sons-in-law Roy and Roger, daughters-in-law Valerie, Dor, Emma and Janine, his 11 adoring and cherished grandchildren, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
Robert will repose at his residence, The Swan Road, Durrow R32 K7N1 on Tuesday 13th May 2025 from 4pm until 8pm. Funeral Service on Wednesday 14th May 2025 in St Fintan’s Church, Durrow, Co. Laois R32 X674 at 2pm with burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Liam Brennan
Coolnariska, Killeshin, Laois, R93F772/Killeshin, Carlow
After celebrating his 90th birthday, Liam passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his loving wife Kitty (nee Bambrick) his parents William and Annie Brennan, his brother Pat and his son Liam’s partner Andrea Murray.
Loving father of Liam, Michéal, Annette, Anthony, Marie, Colette, Paschal and Cathal. His twenty four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, his sister Kathleen (Farrell), Maura (Lawlor) and Anna (Lawless), sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and his lifelong great neighbours and large circle of friends.
A true family man, a loyal neighbour and a true pillar of his community.

Monday 12th May from 2.00pm – 8.00pm,
Concluding with prayers both evenings. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, 13th May at 2.00pm in Holy Cross Church, Killeshin, Co. Laois R93 WT29 followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

John Daly

Daly John, 9th May 2025, Beechfield Road, Walkinstown and formerly Clonaslee, Co. Laois and Department of Defence, Dublin. John slipped away peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of Maryfield Nursing Home, Chapelizod. Beloved husband of the late Anne, loving dad of John, Colette, Niamh, Conor, Enda and Fergal and much loved grandad of Robert, Laura, Matthew, Jessica, Elliot, Ríona and Seán.
John will be forever loved and very sadly missed by his loving children, son-in-law Eamonn, daughters-in-law Kathleen, Roz and Midori, Niamh’s partner Collins, his grandchildren, his sister Kathleen and brother Billy, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Mary Brophy Moore
40 Monacurragh, Carlow Town, Carlow/Ballyragget, Kilkenny/Ballyroan, Laois
Mary Brophy Moore, of 40 Monacurragh, Carlow and Kent, England and formerly of Redhill, Ballyroan, Co Laois, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on May 10th 2025, at her home in Carlow.
Beloved wife of Liam, cherished sister of Kathleen, Lizzie, Margaret, Ned, Eileen, Ann and the late Judy and John and treasured daughter of the late Paddy and Kit.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, brother, sisters, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq (Eircode R93 C863) on Monday (May 12th) from 4pm, concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal on Tuesday morning at 12 Noon to St Patrick’s Church, Ballyraggat, Co Kilkenny to arrive for Funeral Mass at 1pm.
A private cremation will then take place at a later date.
Kathleen O Connor (née Norton)

Beloved wife of James and much loved mother of Jennie and Kevin. Deeply regretted by her son in law Liam, daughter in law Debbie, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.
Cremation to take place in Newlands Cross Crematorium on Tuesday at 11.30am.
