Kevin Brennan was crowned Men’s Golden Masters B 40×20 All-Ireland champion last weekend with a resounding 21-7, 21-8 victory over Antrim’s Joseph Boyle.
Kevin has played some scintillating handball right throughout these championships to record victories over high calibre handballers such as Joe Ryan of Tipperary and David Redmond of Wexford.
In the final, played at the National Handball Centre in Croke Park, Kevin produced arguably his best performance to date.
It led to him deservedly capturing the All-Ireland title that eluded him twelve months previously where he lost in a very competitive final to Tom McDonagh of Cork.
The Clough-Ballacolla handballer showed huge determination, skill and courtcraft from start to finish and his ability to kill the ball when the chances presented themselves proved telling.
Having gained the initiative at the beginning of both the first and second games, Kevin maintained his dominance, never allowing his opponent to gain any foothold in the final to stage a comeback.
With the victory, Kevin adds a second Laois All-Ireland success in 2025 with Aoife and Úna Brophy having claimed the Ladies Junior Doubles title earlier in the year.
This victory is richly deserved by the Clough-Ballacolla handballer who has developed his game hugely over the last number of years thanks to his dedication and commitment to training and improving as handballer.
