The Stradbally Community Choir are all set for their latest performance which is in aid of Kolbe Special School.
Kavanagh’s in Portlaoise is the venue for the performance and tickets are free.
There will be a donation box on the door and all funds raised will go to Kolbe Special School.
The choir are set to take to the stage around 10pm and they will be supported by Stradbally man Ryan Shiel who is due to perform from 8.30pm.
A spokesperson said: “We have staff from Kolbe as part of our choir and children from Stradbally attending the school.
“So this is our small way of trying to give something back to a school which does so much for everyone.”
The choir came together last year and had their first official performance before Christmas in the the Sacred Heart Church.
On the night, 100 men and women appeared on the altar in front of a packed church.
Since then, the choir performed at the official launch of the Timahoe Male Choir’s CD launch in the Abbeyleix Manor Hotel in February.
They performed at ‘Timahoe’s Got Talent’ in March and sang again in the church on St Patrick’s Day.
Their latest outing was as the Greenfields Festival in Athy where they sang on the main stage.
Tonight’s event is another step on their journey as they gear up for an exciting second half of the year.
Their next performance is set to be at the Stradbally Parish celebration day in St Colman’s School on June 22.
