Laois County Council has launched a Local Authority Affordable Purchase Scheme at Oak Vale Meadows, Stradbally.
This scheme is presented in partnership with Mark Coleman Construction and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
Local Authority Affordable Purchase Schemes help bridge the gap for applicants between their own purchasing power and the current market prices of new build homes.
The homes will be available for purchase generally by eligible first-time buyers and fresh start applicants (some exceptions may apply).
The minimum sale price of the available houses range from €212,650 to €262,650.
This represents a reduction from current market value of between 18.21% and 25.39%.
Michael Rainey, Chief Executive, Laois County Council said: “The delivery of high-quality affordable housing is the foundation of a strong local economy and thriving rural communities.
“I am very pleased to see that Laois County Council is leading the way, surpassing national targets and turning affordable housing goals into reality.
“I look forward to the Council launching more Affordable Schemes within the County in the near future.”
Laois County Council is inviting prospective homeowners to apply for these new homes through their online application portal – which will be accessible through the Laois County Council website on June 27 at 11am.
Information on what applicants will need to apply and how the application process will work is available on Laois County Council’s website.
