Laois Hurling Podcast: 10 minutes on Rathdowney-Errill

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Rathdowney-Errill GAA club.

And over the course of those 20 years they have made some impact on the Laois hurling scene.

Champions in 2006, they have added five further titles and competed in finals in 2016, 2018 and 2024. Indeed such was the success of their amalgamation that many others followed suit – including Borris-Kilcotton, Colt-Shanahoe, Park-Ratheniska/Timahoe and briefly Castletown/Slieve Bloom. Abbeyleix and Ballinakill also entered very serious discussions.

So where do they stand 20 years on? Can they add a seventh championship success? Ross King and Eric Killeen are out of the country and unavailable at the moment but the revolving door means that Mark Kavanagh and Jack Kelly are back.

Who are their main men and ones to watch, club stalwarts and hardy hoors. And who would they most like to beat.

Steven Miller and Barry McEvoy chat all things Rathdowney-Errill in this episode.
