A Laois family have set up a GoFundMe page in the hope of raising the money needed to provide their daughter with treatment that would “significantly improve her quality of life.”
Zophia Ounnar, who lives in Portlaoise, is nearly 11 years old.
She lives with non-verbal autism and struggles in many ways with day to day life, including with her mental health, which stems from her inability to communicate.
She has two amazing little sisters who she loves dearly but can’t play with or interact with.
She comes home from school but can’t share anything from her day with Mum and Dad.
Despite everyone’s best efforts, she is lonely and isolated.
Stem cell therapy offers a promising 90% chance for her to start speaking and significantly improve her quality of life.
The most study from from Switzerland into stem cell therapy provided the following results:
- 90% of participants showed improvement in verbal and nonverbal communication;
- 56% experienced improved attention and focus;
- 62% showed gains in cognitive development (learning, understanding, and retention).
The GoFundMe page is available here, with almost €2,500 raised towards the €20,000 target.
“We would greatly appreciate any contributions you can make to support this life changing treatment,” the Ounnar family said.
“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind and generous heart to give to this worthy cause.”
