Powerpoint Engineering latest charity cycle to take place in honour of late Emlyn O’Reilly

Portlaoise company Powerpoint Engineering will hold their fifth Annual Charity Cycle next month in honour of their late colleague, Emlyn O’Reilly.

“This year’s Charity Cycle is especially close to our hearts as we have decided to dedicate it to the memory of our dear friend and colleague, Emlyn O’Reilly,” the company said.

“Emlyn was a much-loved member of our team – kind, positive and a true gentleman.”

Mr O’Reilly sadly passed away in July, leading to tremendous shock and sadness in Portlaoise and the wider community.

From September 19 to 22, four of representatives from Powerpoint Engineering will take on a four-day journey through croatia, cycling from Lovinac to Dubrovnik.

Covering 635km, the charity cycle will honour Emlyn’s wishes by raising funds for Friends of the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.

This registered charity is a 100% voluntary organisation that provides special care rooms and gardens for patients and families.

“Emlyn spent his final two weeks in one of these rooms, surrounded by love, dignity and peace,” Powerpoint Engineering said.

“Every donation is very much appreciated, with every cent raised going directly to Friends of the Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore.”

Those who would like to make a donation can do so at the company’s GoFundMe page, or by emailing mary.keegan@powerpoint.ie to arrange a bank transfer

Separate to this fundraiser, Powerpoint Engineering will make a separate donation of €40,000 to Down Syndrome Centre Midlands, the charity we have proudly supported in the company’s previous charity cycles.

Since 2021, the company have raised €130,375 for their chosen charities through various charity cycles.
