The club hurlers of the county are the first to take to the field in the wake of the latest Electric Picnic.
This weekend sees the final round of action in the hugely entertaining group phase of the senior hurling championship.
As it stands, nobody is definitely through and nobody is definitely out. The action there begins with a local derby on Friday night in O’Moore Park between Clough-Ballacolla and The Harps and continues with double headers on Saturday and Sunday.
We also have the first championship final of the season when the second teams of Ballyfin and Ballinakill do battle in the Laois JHC ‘B’ final in the Centre of Excellence on Wednesday evening.
There are also JHC ‘A’ and ‘C’ semi-finals as well as quarter-finals in the two intermediate grades.
