All systems go as eagerly anticipated Luggacurren 10K back for 32nd year

The annual Luggancurren 10km road race will return this September for its 32nd year.

Last year’s winners were Mick Kelly in the men’s race and Lisa Sweeney in the ladies’ race.

Both were keenly contested battles and it is anticipated that a similar level of competition will unfold on September 14.

The Luggacurren 10K continues to attract runners from across Laois and beyond, with organisers encouraging people to mark the date in their diaries and come along to take part.

A spokesperson said: “The 32nd Annual 10K takes place on Sunday September 14, at 1pm sharp. There will be prizes in all categories.

“We will also have a non-competitive 5K and 10K which will commence at 12.30pm sharp.

“All entrants will receive a souvenir T-shirt. Refreshments will be served after the event.

“For more information, people can find us on Facebook at ‘Luggacurren 10K’.”
