Agnes McEvoy (nee Dollard), Marian Avenue, Portlaoise. Passed away peacefully on the 14th of September 2025 surrounded by her loving family at Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by her beloved husband John, brothers Paddy, Frank, Michael and sister Maura. Loving mother to Patrick, Joan and Jacqueline. She will be deeply missed by her sisters Betty and Anne, sons in law John and Noel, daughter in law Chris, grandchildren Nicola, David, Lynn, Lisa, Ciara, Conor and Megan, 11 adored great grandchildren, nieces, nephew, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home on Monday The 15th of September from 6:30 pm till 8 pm with rosary at 7:30 pm. Funeral mass will take place on Tuesday 16th at 11 am in SS Peter and Paul’s Church Portlaoise with burial afterwards in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery Portlaoise.

Maria Alberta (Mary) Brophy (née McCormack)
Portlaoise, Laois/Mountrath, Laois

Mary Brophy (née McCormack) formerly of Portlaoise / Mountrath and West Yorkshire passed away peacefully on the 6th of September 2025 surrounded by her loving family at home. Predeceased by her beloved husband William (Billy) Brophy, son Thomas Patrick, predeceased brothers and sisters. Sadly missed by her loving family, sons and daughters Marie, Philomena, Catherine, Pauline, William, Bridget, Paul, Marion, Daniel and Anthony, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home Portlaoise on Tuesday evening 16th September from 6:30pm until 8pm with Rosary at 7:30pm. Removal on Wednesday 17th September to SS Peter and Pauls Church Portlaoise for Requiem Mass at 1pm followed by interment in Ss Peter and Pauls Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Pauline Comerford (née Campion), Bushfield, Borris-in-Ossory, Co. Laois.

Passed away peacefully on the 14th September 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael and brothers Michael and Jack.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving son John, daughters Geraldine (Breen), Breda (Delaney) and Mary (Langan), daughter-in-law Imelda, sons-in-law Ger, Mick and Mark, grandchildren Brian, Sinéad, Shane, Aisling, and Márie Comerford, Caroline, Louise and Hannah Breen, Noel, Colm and Killian Delaney, Michael and Clodagh Langan, her 8 great-grandchildren, sister Anne (Nan) Hogan, brother Jimmy Campion and his wife Mary, sister-in-law Mary Comerford, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her son John Comerford’s residence, Bushfield, Borris-in-Ossory, Co. Laois, R32 X229 on Monday 15th September from 12 noon to 8pm, with Rosary at 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday 16th September at 12 noon in St. Kieran’s Church, Knockaroo, R32 F886 , followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Kathleen Murphy (née Maher)
5 Congress Tce, Portarlington, Laois

Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by her husband Jimmy, son Fergus and infant daughter Imelda. Deeply regretted by her loving sons Brian and Seamus, daughters Maria and Vivienne,daughters-in-law Helena and Olivia, sons-in-law Ray and Philip, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Mahers Chapel of Rest Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) on Sunday evening from 5pm with Rosary at 7pm. Removal on Monday morning at 9:20am arriving St Michael’s Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery Portarlington.

Shannon Road, Mountrath, and formerly Ballylinan, Co. Laois.

Mary passed away peacefully on the 12th September 2025, at Naas General Hospital Co. Kildare. Predeceased by her beloved husband Tom and brother Billy.

Dearly loved mother to Declan and Ann Marie, Sadly, missed by her son, daughter, grandchildren Ava, Michael, Tom, Aisling, Fiadh, Declan’s partner Eimear, Ann Marie’s partner Brian, brother P.J. (Hickey), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home on the Shannon Road eircode R32T9W3 on Saturday evening 13th September and Sunday evening 14th September from 5.0’clock, with Rosary 8.0’clock on both evenings.

Removal on Monday morning 15th September to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath eircode R32X338, for Requiem Mass at 10.0’clock, followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery.

Pat Purcell of 8 Kennedy St, Carlow, passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2025 at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Adored uncle of all his nieces and nephews, especially Patrice, Jean, Moira and Dee, beloved brother of Moira, Doris, Michael, Ned and the late John and Margaret, and much loved son of the late Michael and Essie.

He will be sadly missed by his loving brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Carpenter Bros. Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq. (Eircode R93 C863) on Sunday, September 14th, from 4pm concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening.

Removal from there on Monday at 10.30am to The Holy Cross Church, Killeshin, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to Newlands Cross Crematorium arriving for Cremation service at 1.30pm.

REILLY, Annette(née Loughlin), (Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 and formerly of 1, Moore Street, Rathdowney, Co. Laois) September 10th, 2025 (peacefully) in the loving care of the staff at St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown.

Beloved wife of the late Patrick (Paddy), much loved and cherished mother of Patrick, Ann Marie and James and an adored grandmother of Liam, Seamus and Teagan.

Predeceased by her mother Maura and father John and sisters Eleanor and Mary. Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughter, grandchildren, Patrick’s partner Dina, Ann Marie’s partner Tony, brothers, sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Church Avenue, Blanchardstown on Monday evening (September 15th) from 5.00pm to 7.00pm.

Removal on Tuesday morning (September 16th) St. Patrick’s Church, Corduff arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.00am followed by burial in Rooske Cemetery, Dunboyne, Co. Meath.
