The first running of the St Abbans AC Primary Schools Cross Country Relays took place recently in Killeshin.
The event was attended by 11 schools with a massive 200 students taking part.
Some of the Laois schools who took part included Arles NS, Timahoe NS, Killeshin NS, Newtown NS, Mayo NS, Shanganmore NS and St Fiacc’s NS.
All involved in the event were thrilled with its success with a spokesperson for St Abban’s thanking everyone who made it so.
The spokesperson said: “A huge thank you to all the schools who attended, to the volunteers and teachers who helped with the smooth running of this event.
“Also to Ian McDonald for the use of his land, and a special thank you to our event sponsors.
“These are Apache Pizza Carlow, Thomas M. Byrne & Son, Cahill Crafts Ltd., Ann Marie Lawler Barbering, Tara Sheehan Barbering, Craig Coffey Fitness, and Laois Sports Partnership.
