The weather may have been miserable but spirits were high in Timahoe NS on Friday as the children held their annual coffee afternoon in aid of Laois Hospice.
This event has become a permanent fixture on the school calendar and the children take great pride in helping out this wonderful charity.
Parents and children were busy baking on Thursday evening and they put on a wonderful spread of treats for all to enjoy.
Parents and grandparents were waited on by the children and they were very impressed by the children’s service.
The event was a huge success raising €347 for the hospice. Deputy Principal, Aoife Buckley was thrilled with the response from the children and parents.
She said: “There was great excitement in the lead up to the event. The children were delighted to have their parents and grandparents in to school and they took their job very seriously.
“The adults seemed very happy to come in and have a coffee and a chat while supporting a great cause.
“A big thank you to them for supporting the event and for all the baking.
“Thanks also to the staff and children for all the hard work.”
