Maryborough NS has been a hive of Christmas flurry and excitement in the last few weeks.
On December 5, the children and families of Maryborough NS enjoyed a festive day of Christmas baked goods and handmade Christmas crafts, all created by the pupils and teachers of Maryborough NS.
Christmas cheer was in full swing as the 5th and 6th class pupils launched the first ever Maryborough NS Christmas Craft Fair.
There was an array of crafts for sale, including Christmas decorations, floral center pieces, jewellery and much more.
Parents and members of the school community attended the craft fair in abundance.
Talented 6th class pupil Keven Zheng provided festive piano music for the guests on arrival. Isabella and Gearoid were busy making coffees and hot chocolates.
Adam Shaw was on flower duty with Caoimhe and Ava assisting with the raffle ticket sales.
The school raised a fantastic total of €2,700 following the craft fair and raffle. All proceeds will greatly benefit the school in their fundraising efforts.
The pupils of Maryborough NS showcased their talents again last Thursday afternoon with a magnificent violin performance under the expert guidance of violin tutor John Davidson.
They put on a modern version of Twelve Days of Christmas performed by Ms Handcock’s 5th and 6th class, a festive Recorder and Ukulele performance by Mr Healy’s 3rd and 4th class including a winter musical piece composed by the pupils.
While there was also a special Nativity drama was performed by Ms. Barrys and Ms. Holohan’s Junior Infant, Senior Infant, 1st and 2nd class who sang their hearts out for their families.
Principal Brid-Ann Buggie said: “Congratulations to all pupils, teachers and SNA’s.
