Laois County Council have confirmed details of their out of hours service for the Christmas period.
Laois County Council will close to the public from 4pm on Tuesday, December 23 until Monday, December 29 at 9am.
The offices will close again one day on New Year’s Day.
The Planning Department will close slightly earlier, at 1pm on Tuesday, December 23 until Monday, December at 9.30am 29.
It will also close on New Year’s Eve at 4pm, with usual hours resuming on Friday, 2 January.
The Motor Tax and Payments Office will close from Tuesday, December 23 at 1pm and reopen on Monday, December 29 at 9.30am.
Their offices will also close again on New Year’s Eve at 12pm and reopen on Friday, 2 January from 9.30am until 1pm.
The Council confirmed that they have engaged the services of Arema Connect during the Christmas period.
A spokesperson said: “They will provide a call answering service for non fire emergencies for Roads, Housing and Water Services over the Christmas and New Year periods when the offices are closed.
“Callers can access the service by calling the main switchboard (057) 8664000.
“They will be provided with two options, i.e. press 1 to access the out of hours service or press 2 to leave a message (which customers are being advised will be responded to when the offices re-open).”
