Portarlington were crowned champions for the fifth time in six years after they defeated neighbours Courtwood in O’Moore Parkon Saturday.
A second half penalty from Colm Murphy was the crucial score as Pat Roe’s charges claimed glory once again.
It was another valiant effort from Courtwood but they failed to score from play in the entire game – with all bar one of their scores coming from Matthew Byron dead balls.
They also endured long gaps between scores with 25 minutes in the first half and 20 in the second half of inactivity.
Courtwood made a dream start to the replay and were four points up inside the first five minutes.
But Portarlington were level by half time as Courtwood failed to score again.
Matthew Byron hit two more frees when play resumed but the crucial moment came in the 45th minute when Murphy converted a penalty.
Photographer Paul Dargan was present at full time and captured some great images.
