Borris-Kilcotton appoint new management team for 2026 season

Borris-Kilcotton have a new management team for the 2026 season that includes Kilkenny man Brendan Cahill as their senior coach as well as Dave Moriarty, the former Laois and Limerick Strength and Conditioning coach.

Cahill, who is from Tullaroan, and Moriarty will also be assisted by Borris-Kilcotton club men Owen Drennan and Seamus Kelly.

They take over from Waterford native Kevin Ryan who was in charge in 2025. Borris-Kilcotton returned to the senior grade last season following their Premier IHC success in 2024 under Paudie Bourke

They had senior championship group wins over Portlaoise, Abbeyleix and Ballinakill, as well as losses to Rosenallis and Clough-Ballacolla, before losing narrowly to Camross in the quarter-final.

Cahill has previously worked with Kilkenny Camogie under Brian Dowling and has been manager of Mooncoin hurlers for the last three years in Kilkenny.

Dave Moriarty is well know in Laois hurling circles having been coach to the Laois Senior hurlers in their McDonagh Cup win in 2019, he has also coached Limerick, Adare, Glen Rovers and the UL Fitzgibbon Cup team.

Clough-Ballacolla are the high-profile club currently without a manager following Willie Hyland’s decision to step away after two successful seasons in charge where they claimed another two Laois senior hurling titles.

Camross have appointed Tomas Burke while Pat Critchley has replaced Cyril Duggan in Portlaoise.
