The Laois senior football team to face Limerick in Round 1 of the National Football League has been named.
Justin McNulty has named a team which shows seven changes from the side that started the Tailteann Cup season ending defeat to Westmeath last summer.
Annanough’s Jake Darcy is set to make his first start as he has been named at corner back.
There is a brand new midfield pairing with Crettyard’s Ciaran Burke to be joined by Courtwood’s Robert Tyrrell – the latter of whom is set to make his starting league debut, though he did appear as a sub during John Sugrue’s spell as manager.
The next debutant comes on the half forward line where Park-Ratheniska’s Cian Nolan is selected at 10.
While there is a brand new full forward line that is also set to contain someone who will play for Laois for the very first time.
Portarlington’s Rioghan Murphy and Crettyard’s Evan O’Carroll return after missing 2025 and they are either side of first time starter Daragh Galvin.
The bench contains the likes of Darren Brennan, Colin Dunne, Ben O’Connor and Cian Ryle who could also make their debuts if introduced.
There are also welcome returns for Mikie Dempsey, Jack Lacey, Paul Kingston and Alex Mohan.
