It’s another busy day for Laois teams in inter-county action.
The Laois hurlers take on Derry in Round 2 of their NHL Division 2 campaign in O’Moore Park.
After a big win away to Mayo last weekend Laois are the hottest of favourites against a Derry side that were well beaten at home by Kerry.
It’ll be the first meeting of Laois and Derry in a competitive hurling clash since 2013. Laois have won six of the seven competitive meetings between the counties with Derry’s sole win coming in 2001 in Dungiven.
That game throws in at 1pm in O’Moore Park and Barry McEvoy is on duty for us.
The other game down for decision this afternoon is the Laois ladies football clash with Down in NFL Division 3.
That game is fixed for Heywood at 2pm. This was originally fixed for Emo but switched to Heywood’s all-weather pitch.
Laois drew with Fermanagh in a high-scoring affair last Sunday and will be favourites to get their first win today.
Steven Miller will be at that one and will bring you updates throughout the afternoon.
