Past pupil and last year’s head boy of Portlaoise College Nathan Dewing has been awarded a Trinity College Dublin Entrance Exhibition Award.
Nathan, who is from Portlaoise, is currently studying theoretical physics at Trinity where Entrance Exhibitions are awarded to first year students in recognition of strong performance in leaving certificate or international equivalent results.
The award takes the form of a €150 book prize, and recipients were invited to attend a ceremony to mark the achievement.
Nathan was presented with his award at the ceremony by Orla Shiels, Vice Provost and Chief Academic Officer, alongside Head of Undergraduates Professor Vincent Wade.
Portlaoise College principal Noel Daly was present at the ceremony and congratulated Nathan on his success.
“Nathan consistently demonstrated curiosity, commitment and a strong academic focus during his time at Portlaoise College,” he said.
“It is wonderful to see his hard work recognised as he begins his studies in theoretical physics.”
Warm congratulations have been extended to Nathan on this notable achievement.
