Laois ladies minor football manager Adrian Slevin has named a 35-player panel ahead of the start of this year’s Leinster championship campaign which gets underway at the end of the month.
Sarah McDonald from Portlaoise will captain the side while Lucie O’Reilly from St Brigid’s and Clodagh Fingleton from Park-Ratheniska are the two vice-captains.
Laois will begin their championship campaign away to Westmeath on Saturday, February 28, with further group games at home to Offaly on March 21 and away to Longford on April 6.
Laois won this Leinster minor ‘B’ championship in thrilling fashion last year before losing to Sligo in the All Ireland semi-final.
Eight of the team that started – and two of the subs that came on – in last year’s Leinster final win over Wexford are eligible for selection again.
Graiguecullen’s Mia Branagan – who has been involved with the Laois seniors – Katie O’Reilly, Clodagh Fingleton, Abi Swift, Lara Culleton, Niamh Dundon, Kaylah O’Mara, Laoise Dunne and Poppy Duff all featured in last year’s Leinster final.
Ballyroan are the most represented club with six players while Portlaoise have four. Ballyfin, Graiguecullen, Park-Ratheniska and Timahoe all have three players.
Killeshin, Sarsfields, Shanahoe and St Brigid’s all have two players included while there is one apiece for Mountrath, St Joseph’s, St Paul’s, St Conleth’s and Crettyard.
