BREAKING: Electric Picnic tickets completely SOLD OUT

Electric Picnic has completely sold out

Did you get your hands on a ticket to this year’s Electric Picnic music festival?

Well if you didn’t, it is now too late as tickets have completely sold out less than 24 hours after the first line up was announced.

Picnic chief Melvin Benn yesterday revealed 30,000 tickets had already been sold for the 52,000 capacity Laois venue.

And after Kendrick Lamar, Massive Attack, Dua Lipa and N.E.R.D. were announced as headliners yesterday, remaining tickets sold out in less than 24 hours.

Electric Picnic bosses said: “Following last year’s record breaking sell out – yet again we are sold out.

“After announcing Kendrick Lamar, Massive Attack and N.E.R.D as the headliners, Electric Picnic can now announce that all weekend tickets for 2018 are now completely sold out, yet again demonstrating the unwavering popularity of Ireland’s favourite music and arts festival.

“And for those of you lucky enough to get tickets, keep your eyes peeled for more exciting announcements over the coming months.”

Last year’s Festival sold out before the first line up had even been announced but this year there seems to have been a more cautious approach from punters who waited to see what they would get for their money first.

Festival chiefs said tickets on all tiers are completely gone – with Weekend Camping tickets, Family Weekend Camping tickets, Sunday day tickets, Campervan/Caravan + Car passes and Family Campervan/Caravan + Car passes all sold out.

The festival promoters had held back more tickets for punters until the headliners were revealed.

Melvin Benn told the Irish Sun yesterday: “I could have sold all the tickets before the line-up was announced but I took them off sale so everybody had a chance to get them.

“By then, we had sold more than 30,000 tickets. The tickets are back on sale now but I don’t know if they’ll all be gone by tomorrow, or even tonight.”

Other acts confirmed are: Dua Lipa, Ben Howard, St. Vincent, King Krule, George Ezra, The Kooks, Jungle, Wolf Alice, Chvrches, Nina Kraviz, Cigarettes After Sex, Friendly Fires, Garbage, Dermot Kennedy, Benjamin Clementine, Sigrid, Jessie Ware, Jorja Smith, Mount Kimie, Tom Misch, The Blaze, Stefflon Don, Peggy Gou, Yxng Bane, Field Music, Alexis Taylor, Sevdaliza, Lucy Dacus, La Femme, Inne Circle, Jordan Rakei, Raye, Gang of Youths, Nilufer Yanya, Scarlxrd, Yellow Days, Hak Baker and Tom Tripp.

The festival takes place from August 31 to Septemeber 2 this year in Stradbally Hall – the estate owned by the Cosby family.
