No school again tomorrow, according to reports

Clough NS and the rest of the primary and secondary schools in the county are expected to remain closed again tomorrow

ALL schools in the country are to remain closed agains on Tuesday, according to a report on Independent.ie just published now.

Kevin Doyle has repoted that a decision has been taken by a national group this afternoon as the damage caused by Storm Ophelia is assessed.

“As Storm Ophelia continues to rages officials have decided that for safety reasons all schools should remain closed for another day,” he reports.

“A source told Independent.ie the decision was taken during a meeting of the National Emergency Coordination Group this afternoon.

“An official announcement is expected later this evening. ‘The situation is evolving and the safest thing to do is close all schools, urban and rural, while the damage is assessed,” the source said.

All schools in the country were closed today due to the forecasted storm and that will now extend to a second day.

Laois County Council have reported a number of road closures, power outages, fallen trees and various other incidents as the country has been hit with the most severe storm since 1961.
