South Leinster Junior Football Final

Colaiste Íosagáin were crowned South Leinster Junior football champions this afternoon following a three point win over Gorey this afternoon.

The Portarlington school overcame the concession of an early goal to claim the title in Fenagh by 0-12 to 1-6.

Gorey were in front early on through that goal but Colaiste Iosagáin recovered to take a 0-8 to 1-3 lead at half time with Mark Barry, Colin Slevin and Matthew Byron amongst the scorers.

Gorey needed a second goal on the resumption of play to get themselves back into the affair but the Íosagáin defence held strong while Jake Nicholl, Caoimhghin Murphy and Barry kept the scoreboard ticking to secure the win.
