Dunnes Stores is seeking to boost its operations at their outlet on the Mountmellick Road in Portlaoise.
According to Midlands 103, the supermarket giant is looking for permission for an 800 square metre extension of its building, which would incorporate a new layout of the shop and car park.
The chain also operates out of the Kyle Centre on the other side of Portlaoise town.
Laois County Council are due to make a decision on the application at the end of next month.
