We’ve said it before and we’ll no doubt say it again. Social media loves a winner.
And this afternoon after Our Duke – bred and owned in Coolrain in Laois – won the Boyle Sports Irish Grand National in Fairyhouse, the well wishes towards the owners of the horse flooded in on Twitter and Facebook.
Owned by a syndicate made up of the Cooper brothers Sloane, Nigel and Billy and their sister Hazel, the 5/1 favorite romped home, winning by 14 lengths. The novice is trained by Jessica Harrington and was ridden by Robbie Power and is now a 10/1 shot for the 2018 Cheltenham Gold Cup.
We’ve picked out a selection of the social media reaction.

That was all too easy for Our Duke in the end and he looks every inch a potential Cheltenham Gold Cup horse for 2018
