Laois senior hurler nominated for GAA Player of the Week award

Paddy Purcell was in action today for Laois against Wexford

Laois senior hurler Paddy Purcell has been nominated for the GAA.ie Hurling Player of the Week.

The Rathdowney-Errill midfielder scored 3-6 from play against Meath in the Leinster Championship on Sunday.

Purcell’s display drew wide praise from all quarters with RTE commentator Brian Carty saying that it was ‘worthy of All-Star nomination’.

Now Purcell has been nominated for this award and people have until 10am tomorrow to go to the GAA’s official Facebook page on vote for Purcell.

He is up against Antrim’s Ciarán Clarke and Tyrone’s Damien Casey.

The winner will be named in the morning.
