Over €10,000 worth of damage has been caused during a break-in at a Rosenallis pub over the weekend.

Portlaoise gardaí are appealing for information on the incident which occurred at the Corner House bar in Rosenallis in the early hours of yesterday (Sunday) morning.

Nother was taken in the incident which took place between 12.30  – 4.30am, but gardai are reporting extensive damage to the bar, bar furniture, walls, fridge freezer and cigarette machine.

CCTV footage is being examined to indentify the culprit.

It follows a separate break-in at Clonaslee Vocational School in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Again, nothing was taken in the incident but the perpetrators forced entry through a window, before cutting alarm wiring and causing a lot of damage to internal doors and sensors.

There was also an unsuccessful attempt to gain entry to a safe with power tools, and CCTV footage is being analysed.

The two male suspects wore balaclavas.
