Witnesses still sought to assault of woman in Clonaslee


Witnesses are still being sought in relation to an assault of a woman in Clonaslee on the weekend before last.

The woman, who received facial injuries is now out of hospital, after spending a number of days there as a precaution.

“We are still appealing for witnesses. A man intervened during the assault and received minor injuries so there would have been a big enough commotion at the time,” a garda spokesperson said.

The garda investigation into the assault of the woman is continuing. Any eyewitnesses are asked to come forward to assist gardai with this investigation.

At approximately 1.20am on the morning of Sunday, June 4, gardaí received a report of a man and a woman fighting at the junction of the Tullamore Road in Clonaslee.

Following this, the woman was treated for her injuries and remained in hospital aftewards.

Both the injured woman and the man involved in the incident are in their 30s and live in the local area.
