Thieves steal alcohol from Rathdowney Supervalu


Brazen thieves filled a trolley with alcohol at Supervalu in Rathdowney and left without paying over the weekend.

The goods taken were described as a “substantial amount of stock” and is believed to be worth several hundred Euros.

Gardai in Abbeyleix confirmed they are investigating the incident which happened on July 23.

The car used during the theft was a Ford Silver Focus estate, with a WD reg.

Anyone who may have seen the car in the area and saw this car is asked to contact Abbeyleix Garda Station on 057 8731202.

Gardai said the thieves calmly loaded up the trolley and then walked out out of the store.

They then loaded up the car and drove off.

Supervalu in Rathdowney also asked for any assistance and posted details on social media.
