New music group for babies and toddlers in Portlaoise

A new music group for babies, toddlers and parents begins in Portlaoise this weekend.

Baby Jam is an early introduction to music for babies and toddlers. It involves using music to kick-start learning such as movement, introducing different sounds and textures, exploring, interacting with other children, participation and gaining confidence.

As well as all these benefits, Baby Jam is an enjoyable class for both parent and child – and it’s suitable for children from 12 months to five years.

The group is organised by Carrie Haskins, who has a BA in Commercial Modern Music and has her own teaching business called Discover Music. She has been teaching kids and adults piano and singing for over seven years.

Come along and tap your feet to the rhythm of nursery rhymes and lullabies. Dance, sing and play with different instruments.

Classes are on every Saturday morning beginning this Saturday, September 9, from 10am to 10.45am at the Parish Centre, Portlaoise. The cost is €8 per class per child or €14 for two children.
