Live Blog of Sunday’s senior and U-17 football finals

We're in O'Moore Park to bring you the action live

It’s here, the biggest day of the year in Laois club football.

A year on from being denied their 10th title in a row by Stradbally – in the most dramatic circumstances imaginable – Portlaoise are back in the county final again, seeking their 32nd title in total and their 10th in 11 years.

Standing in their way is Ballylinan, whose level of county final experience is the complete opposite. Today’s final is only their second ever time to be in a senior decider and their first since 1987.

Ballylinan have a fine team but they come in as complete outsiders – Paddy Power have them priced at 5/1 with Portlaoise at 1/7 and the draw at 14/1. They’re not without hope however and will seek to draw inspiration from what Stradbally did 12 months ago.

We’ll be tracking that game in our live blog as well as the curtain raiser – the U-17 decider between Courtwood-Emo-The Rock and Stradbally Parish Gaels.

We’ll also keep an eye on the senior football finals in Kildare – Moorefield v Celbridge – and in Offaly where Rhode take on Clare. As well as that we’ll bring you results from the Kilkenny senior hurling semi-finals – Ballyhale Shamrocks take on James Stephens in the first game while city rivals Dicksboro and O’Loughlin Gaels meet in the second game in Nowlan Park.

And as well as our Live Blog, we’ll have a report on both games in O’Moore Park on the final whistle as well as reaction, photographs, talking points and analysis on the site.

And we’ll be all over it on social media – with a strong element of coverage on Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter and the presentation of the trophies from both games on Facebook Live.

So stay with us throughout the afternoon, let us know where in the world you’re following the action from and if you’d like a shout out.

Best of luck to all involved!
