Cash stolen from man in evening robbery

Gardai are investigating a robbery of cash from a 20-year-old man who was threatened yesterday.

The incident occurred on Sunday, November 5 at approximately 6 pm at Maryborough Village.

There were no injuries resulting from the incident.

Gardai in Portlaoise are investigating and are appealing for witnesses.

They are following a definite line of enquiry.

While it was quiet on the crime front in Laois over the weekend, gardai scored a notable success with the recovery of stolen property.

The Gardai stopped a van and trailer in Irishtown in Mountmellick at 5am and discovered a massive selection of power tools.

The recovery includes drills, strimmers, consaws and chainsaws among other items.
