Orange weather warning for Laois as Storm Eleanor sweeps the country

Laois has been issued with its second status Orange weather warning in recent days as Storm Eleanor approaches.

The warning will come into effect at 4pm this evening until 9pm tonight.

An orange wind warning has been issued for Munster, Leinster and South Galway, with a yellow warning everywhere else.

The storm is set to bring winds of up to 130km per hour.

Continuous storms 

Eleanor is the fifth storm of the 2017/18 winter season and will cause high seas along Atlantic coasts.

Met Éireann has warned that this will lead to a risk of flooding in exposed areas.
