Portlaoise footballers and hurlers are set to retain their managers for the 2018 season.

Both Malachy McNulty and Cheddar Plunkett will be put forward for ratification at the club’s upcoming AGM.

Malachy McNulty is once again set to lead the footballers in what will be his fourth year in charge.

Portlaoise retained their senior football crown in 2017 after defeating Ballylinan, their tenth time to win the Bill Delaney Cup in the last eleven years.

McNulty’s men lost out to Moorefield in the Leinster quarter final after a late rally by the Kildare side who were eventually crowned Leinster champions.

Meanwhile, despite their relegation from the senior grade, Portlaoise hurlers are set to keep faith with Cheddar Plunkett.

His side suffered a number of injuries in 2017 and were eventually relegated to Senior A after losing the decider against Castletown in Mountrath.

But Plunkett will be back and he will look to guide Portlaoise to an immediate return to the top grade in 2018.
