Laois man named to start against Italy for Ireland U-20s

Sean Masterson

Seán Masterson has been named in the starting fifteen for the Ireland U-20 team for their second game in the Six Nations U-20 championship

Seán is named at number six for the side, who include four changes in total, for their clash with Italy in Donnybrook on Friday night.

Masterson didn’t make the starting team in last weekend but came on as a substitute in their 34-24 opening round loss to France in Bordeaux.

Ireland were trailing at the break but made a big second half surge but their comeback fell short to a fast and strong French side.

Ireland will be looking to get their campaign back on track this weekend when they take on Italy who were beaten 27-17 by England was Friday at home.

Sean captained last year’s Ireland U-19 side, and this year he has been working with Ireland legend Paul O’Connell, who is a new coach for the Irish U-20 side this year.

The game will be broadcasted live on RTÉ 2 at 7.00pm with kick-off in Donnybrook at 7.15pm.
