All Ireland Schools Basketball League finals postponed due to weather warnings

The Basketball Ireland All Ireland Schools League finals, which were scheduled for this Wednesday and Thursday have officially been postponed this morning.

Two Laois schools, Heywood and Scoil Chriost Ri, were set to take part in the finals this week in the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.

Heywood’s U-16 Boys were set to take on St Patrick’s Grammar School from Armagh in the All-Ireland U-16 ‘C’ boys final, while current All-Ireland U-16 girls champions were set to compete for a league title against Presentation Secondary School, Castleisland in the All-Ireland ‘A’ girls final.

The postponement comes in the face of severe weather warnings from Irish weather forecaster, Met Éireann.

The games have been rescheduled to be played on Monday, March 12th, and Thursday, March 15th.

1.00pm – Scoil Chriost Ri, Portlaoise v Presentation Secondary School, Castleisland (Kerry)
