The Stradbally Steam rally is one of the longest-running festivals around

It’s setting up to be an egg-cellent weekend for the Easter Bank Holiday with plenty of family fun days out, Easter Egg hunts and musical sessions to fill the four days.

FRIDAY MARCH 30

O’Moores table quiz

O’Moores Camogie Club are holding their annual table quiz in Rosenallis Community Hall at 9pm.

SATURDAY MARCH 31

Timahoe Easter Egg Hunt 

Timahoe Heritage Centre is the place to be for Easter Egg hunting on Saturday. Reigstration will take place at 11am and the hunt will take place around the village green and the Round Tower.

Easter draw at the Stradbally market

There is an Easter draw in conjunction with the weekly market in St Patrick’s Hall between 10am and 1pm.

Slieve Bloom walks

The Phil Higgins Memoriam walk meets in the Glenbarrow car park at 2pm. It is a 6km grade B walk.

Rosenallis monthly social dance

The monthly social dance is on in the Owenass Hall, Mountmellick, from 9.30pm to 12.30am with music from Twice Shy.

SUNDAY APRIL 1

Stradbally steam train

The steam train at the Stradbally Woodland Railway will be up and running on 12 noon until 4pm.

Easter Rising Commemoration

Laois Sinn Féin will hold their annual Easter Rising 1916 Commemoration at Barrowhouse Church, Ballylinan at 2.30pm.

Sean Chistin session

The next music and dance session in Irey, Ballyfin, takes place this Sunday at 7.30pm.

Slieve Bloom walks

Fearbreague walk meets at Kinnitty Community Centre at 11am. It is a 10km walk lasting 4 hours.

Cullohill Cake Sale

There will be a cake sale in Cullohill Community Centre from 11am. All funds go towards the Ossory Lourdes pilgrimage for volunteer helpers in May 2018.
