One detained after overnight robberies in Portlaoise

Gardaí have detained one person after two overnight robberies in Portlaoise.

The incidents took place overnight and the person, who is a male, was arrested at 4am.

The burglaries occurred at premises in Portlaoise but their locations have not been released by Gardaí.

The man, who remains in Portlaoise Garda Station, is a local man aged in his 20s.

In an unrelated incident, Gardai are appealing for information after a substantial quantity of items were stolen from a house in Portlaoise a couple of weeks ago.

The victim had over substantial amount of tools taken from a property on Harper’s Lane, Portlaoise.

According to Gardai, the range of things taken vary widely.

These include: Road Saw (Honda Engine, white handles, red panels), Clipper Road Saw (grey in colour), Wacker Plate (Honda engine), Honda Generator, Briggs & Stratton Generator, Yellow Pipe Laser, Water pump and four Consaw blades.
